Community Governance Review 2026 - Phase 2 Consultation
Date of consultation: Monday 12 October 2026 - Sunday 15 November 2026
Consultation Summary
Stroud District Council has launched its second public consultation in response to its publication of the Draft Recommendations on Monday 12 October 2026.
A Community Governance Review is the process which allows the Council to make changes to parish arrangements, such as boundaries and the numbers of parish councillors or the creation of a new council.
Between July 2026 and September 2026 we asked you for your views on the current parish/town council arrangements within the areas included for review and whether you would recommend any changes to these arrangements. The appointed Member/Officer Working Group considered these, and views from the existing parish/town councils, as well as a range of demographic and other information.
We used this information to prepare draft proposals which can be viewed on the documents page on the right or on our website here. A paper copy can also be viewed at the Stroud District Council Offices, Ebley Mill, Ebley Wharf, Stroud, GL5 4UB. A summary of proposed changes are also available here.
The consultation will run until Sunday 15 November 2026. Local residents and organisations are encouraged to respond to the consultation to comment on the changes, suggest alternatives, or support the proposals. We will then use this information to prepare our final recommendations which will be published in December 2026.
