Draft Recommendations - Community Governance Review
Stroud District Council are undertaking a community governance review in the following Parish and Town Council areas:
- Brimscombe and Thrupp
- Chalford
- Frampton on Severn
- Great Oldbury
- Minchinhampton
- Standish
- Upton St Leonards
A Community Governance Review (CGR) provides an opportunity for the council to review and, where appropriate, make changes to the existing governance arrangements of Parish and Town Councils. Any recommendations arising from the review will seek to ensure that community governance remains effective and convenient and reflects the identities and interests of local communities. The review is being carried out in accordance with the Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act 2007, and other relevant statutory provisions.
This survey is intended to collect views on the draft recommendations produced by the Working Group based on representations received as part of the first consultation for each of the seven Parishes identified above. These draft recommendations are now out for public consultation and the Working Group are now seeking responses on whether the residents and communities within these Parishes agree with their recommendations or make alternative representations for the Working Group to consider before the final recommendations are submitted to Full Council for December 2026.

- The survey takes approximately 10-20 minutes to complete, depending on the level of detail you wish to provide.
- Please ensure you have read the draft recommendations before responding to this survey.
- If you are proposing changes to parish boundaries or warding arrangements, please provide a map where possible.
- All consultation responses will be considered as part of the review.
- All published results will be anonymised and handled in accordance with the Council’s privacy notice - www.stroud.gov.uk/privacy
